Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon
Dr. Lai is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine. He grew up rooting for the Cardinals and Blues while living in St. Louis, MO. After completing his medical training in New York and Western Pennsylvania, he has now returned home to St. Louis.
As a sports medicine surgeon, his experiences include caring for athletes of all levels: from young athletes still in middle and high school, all the way to the professional level, including Olympic athletes. He currently is the team physician for Marquette High School. He has served as a team physician for the St. Louis Ambush Soccer, Lutheran High School in St. Charles, and Sunday Morning Rugby Club.
During his training, he has provided care for athletes with the Pittsburgh Pirates Major League Baseball organization, USA Rugby Sevens and Fifteens, Pittsburgh Riverhounds, Pittsburgh Harlequins, as well as several high schools in Western PA. He specializes in minimally invasive, arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee. He also specializes in fracture care and trauma, as well as joint reconstruction of the shoulder and knee.
